We're aware of an issue where emails are not being sent out successfully. At this time, this is primarily affecting Notifications emails, though it may temporarily affect other email types as well. We are currently investigating, and working to get all emails back online as soon as possible.

We are experiencing an issue where comments are not visible within the moderation panel. We are currently investigating possible causes, and hope to have the issue resolved as soon as possible. For Publishers on the Pro and above plans, the Shadowban and Timeout options are unavailable, and the moderation content category filters are also unavailable, which we suspect are all related.

We have been experiencing issues with our Recommendations unit following our scheduled maintenance, which has caused intermittent API issues. The embed issues following the maintenance period should be largely resolved, but there are still intermittent issues with login, as this functionality uses the API. Starting this morning, there has been an issue affecting the API, causing some calls to throw 503 response errors, and also causing some slowness in loading the Admin Panel. There have also been reports of some logged in users getting messages that they need to log in in order to post. We are currently investigating the issue, and hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.

Fixes have been made, and many of the main issues have seemingly cleared up. We are continuing to monitor to determine if additional changes need to be made.

We identified a new spam pattern today, starting around 12:00am PST 3/22 which is currently affecting some sites on Disqus. We're working to resolve this issue and we apologize for the inconvenience. This includes blacklisting the pattern so new posts don't display and deleting spam posts from today. In the meantime, we recommend using the Word filter feature https://disqus.com/admin/settings/access/ to block patterns of text you're finding in the spam comments.

We are continuing our work to stop new spam comments across Disqus and we have completed some changes to mitigate the impact. Specific spam URLs are now banned across Disqus so that these comments do not show in the embed. Accounts that were used for posting spam have been notified and their passwords have been reset. We are also retroactively removing spam comments in bulk so that moderators do not need to manually spam these comments in the moderation panel. Thank you for your patience, we will continue to provide updates on our progress.

This includes blacklisting the pattern so new posts don't display, deleting spam posts from today, and temporarily disabling editing of posts that are more than 2 days old.
