Estado de Proton VPN

Proton VPN is a virtual private network service operated by Proton AG, the same Swiss company behind the well-known encrypted email service, Proton Mail. The company's business model is a blend of a freemium and subscription service, and its core mission is to provide an internet that defends freedom and puts people first. It offers a free version with no data caps or speed limits, a feature that distinguishes it from many competitors. The paid plans unlock access to a larger server network, faster speeds, and premium features. A key part of Proton's value proposition is its strong emphasis on privacy and security. The company is based in Switzerland, a country with some of the world's strictest data protection laws, and operates under a strict no-logs policy, which has been independently audited. Proton VPN's commitment to security is also evident in its unique features. These include Secure Core servers, which route user traffic through a secure server in a privacy-friendly country before connecting to the final destination, and NetShield, a DNS-based ad, tracker, and malware blocker. The company's apps are all open-source, allowing anyone to inspect the code for vulnerabilities, building a high level of trust within the security community. Its services are designed to be reliable, with support for advanced VPN protocols like WireGuard and a kill switch feature that prevents data leaks if the VPN connection drops. The company's history is tied to the scientists who met at CERN and shared a vision of a more secure internet
