SPRING JAPAN status

Spring Japan, formerly known as Spring Airlines Japan, is a Japanese low-cost carrier headquartered in Kozunomori, Narita, Chiba Prefecture. It was established in 2012 and commenced operations in August 2014. The airline is a joint venture between Japan Airlines, which holds a 70% stake, and Spring Airlines of China, which owns the remaining 30%. As of 2025, Spring Japan operates a fleet of nine aircraft, including six Boeing 737-800s configured with 189 seats and three Airbus A321-200 freighters operated on behalf of Yamato Transport. The airline serves both domestic routes within Japan and international destinations, focusing on short-haul connectivity. Spring Japan operates as a no-frills carrier, offering affordable airfares with optional services such as checked baggage, seat selection, and in-flight refreshments. The airline emphasizes cost-efficiency and punctuality, aiming to provide value-conscious travelers with reliable and accessible air travel options. In August 2024, Spring Japan entered into a codeshare agreement with Japan Airlines, expanding its network and enhancing connectivity for passengers traveling between Japan and China.
