Bet365 — status

Bet365 is a global online gambling company headquartered in Stoke-on-Trent, England. Its business model is based on offering a comprehensive suite of online betting and gaming products, with its primary revenue streams coming from customer wagers. The company was founded in 2000 by Denise Coates in a portable building and, with a £15 million loan secured against her family's betting shop chain, she launched the online business in 2001. A key strategic move was selling the retail betting shops for £40 million in 2005 to focus solely on the online market. The company is privately held and controlled by the Coates family, which has allowed it to reinvest a significant portion of its profits back into the business, fueling its rapid growth and technological development. Bet365's value proposition is built on its robust and user-friendly platform, offering a wide range of sports betting markets, including its signature "In-Play" betting feature, which allows customers to place bets on events as they are happening live. In addition to sports betting, the company provides other products such as an online casino, live casino, poker, and bingo, all accessible through a single-wallet system for customer convenience. The company's competitive advantage lies in its technological prowess, as it has developed its own proprietary software and trading tools, giving it full control over its odds and products. This has allowed it to be a pioneer in the industry, introducing innovative features like "Cash Out" and early payouts. Bet365 has a global presence, with offices and licenses in multiple countries, including the United States, Australia, and Malta, allowing it to serve millions of customers worldwide. Its continued investment in new markets, product enhancements, and customer service has made it one of the largest and most successful online gambling companies in the world. The company also owns the English football club Stoke City FC, which is a separate revenue stream.
