Canva — status

Founded in 2012 by Melanie Perkins, Cliff Obrecht, and Cameron Adams, Canva has revolutionized graphic design by making it accessible to non-designers. This Australian-based platform offers an intuitive drag-and-drop interface with thousands of templates for social media posts, presentations, logos, and more—bridging the gap between professional tools like Adobe and amateur creativity. Canva’s freemium model provides robust free features while its Pro and Enterprise tiers unlock advanced assets, brand kits, and AI-powered tools like Magic Design. With over 100 million monthly users, it’s become indispensable for small businesses, educators, and content creators. Recent expansions into video editing, print products, and workplace collaboration (via Canva Docs) showcase its ambition to dominate visual communication. By simplifying design without sacrificing quality, Canva empowers anyone to “design anything, publish anywhere.”
