IONOS — status

IONOS.com is a German-based web hosting and cloud services provider that serves small to medium-sized businesses and individuals in Europe and North America. It is a part of the United Internet Group. The company's business model is subscription-based, with a focus on providing a "one-stop shop" for digital presence needs. IONOS was formed in 2018 from the merger of 1&1 Internet and ProfitBricks, a cloud infrastructure specialist. They offer various tiers of service, from shared hosting to more scalable options like cloud and dedicated servers. A key feature of their service is the inclusion of a personal consultant for customers, which sets them apart from some competitors. IONOS offers a wide range of services, including web hosting, domain registration, website builders, dedicated servers, VPS, and cloud hosting. Their pricing often includes introductory offers for the first year, after which the price increases to the regular monthly fee. They also provide optimized plans for WordPress users, which include SSD storage and automated updates. The company is also focused on sustainability, using 100% renewable energy in their data centers in Germany and the UK. IONOS's main competitors in the web hosting and domain registration space include Hostinger, GoDaddy, Namecheap, SiteGround, Bluehost, and OVHcloud.
