Medal — status

Medal.tv is a software and social platform designed to help gamers record, edit, and share their favorite gaming moments. Its business model is based on a freemium model, offering a robust free service while generating revenue from a Medal Premium subscription. The company was founded in 2015 and has quickly become a significant player in the gaming community. A key feature is its lightweight desktop application that can automatically clip and save gameplay moments without a user needing to manually press a button, making it a popular choice for capturing epic plays or funny fails. The platform also includes a social feed where users can upload and share their clips, follow friends, and discover new content. The free version provides users with unlimited storage for their clips and a suite of basic editing tools. The Premium subscription unlocks advanced features such as longer clip uploads, higher quality video resolution, the removal of watermarks, and a personalized profile. Medal.tv’s approach to business has been focused on community building and providing a seamless user experience. It has invested in a mobile app that allows users to access their clips on the go, as well as a creator code program that provides a revenue stream for content creators.
