Streamlabs — status

Streamlabs is a San Francisco-based software company and a subsidiary of Logitech, specializing in tools for live streaming and content creation. Initially founded as TwitchAlerts in 2014, the company was rebranded to Streamlabs and has since become a leading all-in-one solution for streamers and content creators on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming. The core of Streamlabs' offering is its free desktop software, a user-friendly broadcasting tool built on the open-source OBS Studio engine. It provides a comprehensive suite of features that simplify the streaming process, including customizable on-screen alerts for donations and new followers, a vast library of free and premium overlays and themes, and widgets that add interactivity to streams. Streamlabs’ business model is a freemium one. While the basic software is free, a premium subscription, Streamlabs Ultra, unlocks advanced features such as multistreaming to multiple platforms simultaneously, access to a larger selection of professional-grade overlays and apps, and enhanced monetization tools. The company also facilitates revenue for creators through a tip page system, taking no cut of donations, and an integrated merchandise store where creators can sell their own branded items. Beyond its primary software, Streamlabs offers a range of complementary tools like Crossclip for repurposing live stream content into short-form videos for platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
