Air Dolomiti Società Aerea per Azioni (EN/DLA) is an Italian regional airline based in Villafranca di Verona, and it operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the German flag carrier, Lufthansa. The airline was originally founded in 1989 and began operations in 1991, primarily focusing on linking smaller Italian cities to major European hubs, and over time, it became tightly integrated into the Lufthansa Group's expansive network, cementing its role as the major regional feeder for Lufthansa in Italy and Southern Europe. Air Dolomiti operates its primary operational hubs at Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN) in Italy and, critically, at Munich Airport (MUC) and Frankfurt Airport (FRA) in Germany, where its flight network seamlessly connects to Lufthansa’s intercontinental and global routes.
