SpiceJet status

SpiceJet is an Indian low-cost airline headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, operating a fleet of 54 aircraft, including Boeing 737-700, 737-800, 737 MAX 8, and Bombardier Q400 aircraft. The airline serves 73 destinations, comprising 60 domestic and 13 international routes, with hubs at Delhi and Hyderabad. SpiceJet was founded in 1994 as ModiLuft, later renamed SpiceJet in 2004, and began operations in 2005. It is the fourth-largest airline in India by domestic passenger numbers, holding a 4% market share. The airline has faced financial challenges, including a 2024 loss of ₹4.09 billion, but reported a profit of ₹319 crore in Q4 FY25, marking its first annual profit in seven years. SpiceJet has been expanding its fleet, including plans to induct an Airbus A340 and 18 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The airline has also entered into interline agreements with Gulf Air to enhance connectivity. Despite past financial difficulties, SpiceJet continues to focus on low-cost travel, aiming to provide affordable and efficient air travel options across its network.
